HOW DO I GET FREE COPYRIGHT MUSIC FOR MY STATION
-
Off the top of my head:
Jamendo
Phlow-Magazine.com
... to name but a few -
Here are some links that we received from our users:
ccmixter.org/find-music
www.garageband.com please look for the CC symbol
www.soundclick.com (look for "free")
www.podsafeaudio.com
Also the Netlabels.
I haven't checked all of these links, but you may give them a try. -
What type of files does 1000 Mikes support?
-
I believe only mp3 audio can be used for pre-broadcasted show (uploaded to play later). And, you must have a pro account for this. You can check the faq or the accounts page.
however, if you go through the webphone you can play anything or format you want and it will record as an mp3.
If all else fails and you still have questions contact the support team, they are pretty good on responding to questions. -
Actually, everyone can broadcast pre-produced shows, this feature is not limited to pro-accounts. What you can't do when you're on a standard-account, however, is using an audio file as a jingle.
Regarding the format, 1000MIKES supports MP3 with up to 192 KB/s.
On a related note, we frequently see users uploading individual songs. This is not what the upload-feature is about, and there are better ways to mix music and your moderation. There are a number of threads on this topic in the "Tips and Tricks" section e.g. this posting. -

Hi there,
If a artist is unsigned to a record label sometimes they will gve you permission to play their music.
Try Unsigned.com and drop each artist you like a kind email requesting permission to air. Sometimes they send you free mp3s!
